摘　　要：关于西方启蒙运动和中国五四新文化运动的研究,已有许多学者撰文探讨。但对二者的比较研究还比较薄弱。文章就二者的主导性倾向进行总体比较,以揭示其间的联系和各自的特征,进而探讨两次启蒙运动产生差异的原因,以使这一段有关启蒙思想的发展脉络更为清晰。This article makes a generd comparison between the predominant tendencies of the European Enlightenment movement (of the 18th century) and China's New cultural Movement( 1915-1919), in order to disclose their internal relations and the characters of each other , and furthermore, to discuss the reasons of the differences between those two important events to, make the skeleton of the development of enlightenning thought clearer.
