摘　　要：党的十六大已把全国全面建设小康社会作为我国今后奋斗的目标。本文论述了实现这一目标所需的文化条件以及目前我国教育发展现状，指出了成人教育在推进学习型社会的形成、构建终生教育体系中的地位及作用。The l6th Congress has taken it as the objective of o ur future to build a well-off society in an all-round way. What will be neede d in cultural aspect to achieve this objective are discussed according to the development of education in China. This Paper a lso points out the social status and function;of adult education in promoting l earning-oriented society and constructing education system for life.
