摘 要:本文从女性主义和后殖民主义的角度 ,探讨了年轻一代美国华裔女作家伍慧明的小说《骨》中的自我身份和民族文化身份问题 ,说明这个发生在旧金山唐人街的自传性故事实际上是一个“将个人、家庭及民族的历史与政治问题编织到一起的民族寓言”。此外 ,本文还就美国学者菲立帕·卡夫卡对《骨》的二元对立式阅读提出质疑 ,认为书中主人公所经历的不仅仅是在两种冲突 (文化、身份、性别等 )之间寻求消极的妥协与调和 ,从而获得“自我的整合”,而是超越了妥协与调和的模式 ,建立了自己新的话语方式。她所代表的是新一代美国华裔女性的形象。This paper attempts to discuss, from a feminist and postcolonial perspective, the self, national and cultural identities of Chinese Americans in a young woman writer Fae Myenne Ng's novel Bone , illustrating that this seemingly simple (autobiographic) story happened in the Chinatown of San Francisco is really a 'national allegory that has weaved the history and politics of the individual, the family and the nation into a whole.' Further more, the paper also attempts to challenge the American scholar Philipa Kafka's categorization of binary oppositions in the novel, contending that neither 'the blending of two cultures' nor a wholeness that overcomes oppositions to achieve 'a unitary self' can fully account for Ng's women characters' experience of and response to oppositions. Instead, they have invented a new language out of these oppositions to rename and account for the experience that is uniquely their own. What Ng represents in the novel is but a new generation of Chinese American women who are totally different from their predecessors.
