摘　　要：交际理论是应用语言学基本理论里居于总纲地位的理论。也是本体语言学跟应用语言学高层次结合的纽带。语言知识能力、语言交际能力、语言研究能力之外 ,还有一个更重要的更高层次的语言能力———发挥语言能力的能力 ,或者说语言创新能力。层次、动态、中介、人文性。The auhtor holds that communication theory takes a leading role in the basictheories of applied linguistics. It is also a link between linguistics per se and applied linguistics.Besides the abilities of linguistic knowledge,linguistic communication and linguistic research,there lies on a higher level a more important ability of fully utilizing linguistic abilities, which is the creative ability of language. The theories of gradation, development, medium, humanisticness and the contrast of overt vs. covert are several interconnected theories under the basic theories of applied linguistics.
