摘　　要：很久以来,学术界一直把艾米莉·狄金森称为“隐士”,也有学者批评她不关心时事,认为她的诗的主题只是身边的琐事。其实,仔细阅读狄金森的诗篇,我们不难发现,世界的变化、社会的变迁,都没能逃脱她那双敏锐的眼睛,甚至对她的生活还造成了极大的影响。19世纪美国的一系列社会变革,给狄金森也带来了不小的冲击。身为社会中人,即使一介平民,也会感受到社会变革所带来的影响,更何况感情细腻、观察力敏锐的诗人!认真阅读,细心品味,抛开成见和功利心,我们就会在她的诗集中,发现一系列反映19世纪她所处的那个时代的科学发现、发明和社会震荡的诗篇。For a long time in the academic field Emily Dickinson has always been regarded as a hermit. There even are some researchers who criticize her for her indifference to the outside world. They say her poems are only around the trifles. In fact, if we examine her poems more, we can find that the change and the development of the whole world are all described in her poems and her own life is greatly affected by the outside society. From the examination of some of her poems in this essay, we can see her care for the whole world and a more comprehensible understanding of Emily Dickinson can be achieved.
