摘 要:译学前辈们多次论述了文化的可译性,提出翻译可以做到等值,否认文化的翻译存在限度,站在可译性一极。做为译学后进的本文作者认为翻译存在可译性限度。翻译是一种跨语言的交际活动,更是一种跨文化的交际活动,文化的差异性往往很大程度地制约着翻译的等效性。重点研究和讨论文化的可译性限度这一问题,从问候语和称谓语等八个方面阐述了文化的可译性限度,说明文化的可译性限度是翻译实践中不可回避的客观现实,同时又认为文化的可译性限度不是静止不变的,而是动态变化的。Many experts of translation insist of the cultural translatability, denying its limits, arguing that the equivalences can be got during translation. By contrast, the author points that limits of translatability do exist during translation. Translation is an activity between languages and cultures. Cultural differences influence the equivalences of the translation greatly. This paper focuses on the limits of the cultural translatability. From eight aspects such as the greetings and appellations it examines the limits of the cultural translatability. After that it reaches a conclusion that the limits of the cultural translatability are inevitable during translation, and these limits are not static but dynamic-the present limits can be non-limits for the future.
