<Abstrcat>This article discusses a problem to which the importance has not been attached for a long time in the field of interpreting: how to deal with the long sentences in consecutive interpreting. Long sentences tend to be both complex and rich in information. How well the long sentences are treated and how accurate the information is conveyed will have a direct influence on the quality of the interpreting. Through analyzing the consecutive interpreting materials of the national leaders in the press conferences and some important speeches made by several multinational companies' management executives, the author tries to explore how our national interpreters deal with the long sentences in their interpreting practice by changing word order and dividing sentences with the aim of contributing to the dealing of this problem.
