Their inhibiting action on the formation of the lipid peroxide and the scavenging of superoxide ation radical(O2) and hydroxyl radical (.OH ) were investigated in vitro. We found that some peptides possessed significant effect in inhibiting the formation of lipid peroxide and in the scavenging of free radicals formed. TP-5 is the best one. The rate of restraining the formation of lipid peroxide is 95% and the rates of scavenging of superoxide anion radical (O2) and of hydroxyl radical (.CR) are 93% and 57% respectively.
