The use of macrofungi Auricularia polytricha in Ca^2+ removal as biosorbent was investigated. The purpose of this study was to obtain the optimal conditions for Cu^2+ biosorption of.4. polytricha. The sorption experiments were conducted to evaluate the effects of initial pH and temperature, shaking time, initial metal ion and biomass concentration. Initial pH affected Cu^2+ sorption capacity was various with initial Cu^2+ concentrations and the highest sorption capacity was Cu^2+ 1.460 8 mg/g dry mycelium when pH was 6 and Cu^2+ was 10 mg·L^-1 in solution. The influence of temperature was irregular. The sorption capacity was highest at 20 ℃. When shaking time up to 15 minutes, Cu^2+ adsorptive capacity of,A. polytricha showed a highest value (Cu^2+ 1.379 mg/g dry mycelium ). Cu^2+ sorption capacity increased with initial Cu^2+ concentrations. As biomass concentration increases, Cu^2+ uptake rate decreased, that was much more pronounced when the initial Cu^2+ concentration was 60 mg·L^-1. Macrofungi .4. polytricha could be as a biosorbent for Cu^2+ removal in effluents, but further study should be necessary.
