摘　　要：素质教育是当今教育界理论与实践的努力方向,其核心是“个性发展”。文章阐述了关于正确全面的了解“个性”与“个性发展”的含义;指出要把握学生个性发展在素质教育中所处的重要地位;说明在大学教育中如何注重学生个性的发展。得出注重学生个性发展是全面推进素质教育的重要举措,为迎接未来的挑战奠定基础。Quality-oriented education is the direction to which educational theory and practice is made. The core of quality-oriented education is the development of personality. This paper elaberates the correct and comprehensive understanding of ＂personality＂ and ＂development of personality＂, and points out the important role of the development of students＇ personality in quality-oriented education. Finally, the paper draws a conclusion that to face the competition of the future, it＇s very important for us to emphaize the development of students＇ porsonality as part of quality-oriented education.
