摘　　要：文章从文化翻译的定义出发,探讨钱钟书《林纾的翻译》的文化批评特点.一般认为,钱文的重点在于提出了文学翻译的最高理想,本文指出这是一种误解.钱文的主要贡献并不在于提出翻译标准,而是一篇深刻的翻译评论,文中采用的批评方法既有语言层面的对照,更有文化层面的批评,对当今开展文化翻译批评有着方法论上的指导意义.当然,科学的批评标准体系的建立还有待进一步研究.Starting from the definition of cultural translation, this paper discusses the characteristics of cultural translation criticism embedded in Lin Shu＇s Translations by Qian Zhongshu, which has traditionally been considered to have set the highest goal of literary translation. This paper argues that that was a misunderstanding of Qian＇ s article, whose major contribution lies in its profundity in criticism rather than setting criteria for translations. The methods adopted by Qian Zhongshu include not only the linguistic comparison between the SL and TL texts, but also the criticism from cultural aspects, hence are of immense methodological significance to the current practice of cultural translation criticism. Of course, a more scientific criteria system for translation criticism is still to be established with further studies.
