摘　　要：解释学和英语教学的共同之处在于促进人的理解。解释学的三种历史形态“圣经式”理解、“文化式”理解和“创读式”理解为三种英语教学模式即传统式、文化式和学生主体式奠定了理论基础。解释学在英语教学中的运用可以帮助语言教学者自觉克服传统英语教学的局限性,提高英语教学水平。Hermeneutics and language teaching share a common purpose in its promoting understanding. Its three historical forms, ＂Bible＂ interpretation, ＂culture＂ interpretation and ＂creative reading＂ interpretation offer basic theories to the three English teaching styles, traditional style, culture style and student-centered style. Hermeneutics can help language teachers overcome limitations in traditional teaching style so as to improve efficiency in college teaching.
