摘　　要：名词动词化现象在英语中越来越普遍,其对汉语的影响也日益显现。名词到动词的转化既能体现“语言经济原则”,又能提高表达效果,达到生动、形象、言简意赅的修辞目的。名词到动词的转化为什么会产生如此效果呢?关键在于其便捷有效的语义增值机理。Noun-Verb Shift is a rhetorical device more and more widely used in English, which has obviously influenced the Chinese language. N-V Shift can be used to express meanings more vividly on the one hand and to reflect“ economy of language use” on itself on the other, helping conjure up a clearer and more lively picture in the audience＇ s mind. The reason why N V Shift is able to produce such great rhetorical results lies in the mechanism that enables it to gain extended meanings.
