摘　　要：由于对Landscape Architecture一词理解不同而引发的争论,已经持续很长时间了。观其原因,主要是不同学者之间学术观点的分歧所致,其中也包含了对该词演变过程的背景及史料掌握与了解的程度不同。试图从园林史的角度,对该词演变过程的史料进行一些探究和梳理,特别是对Landscape Garden和Landscape Architecture两个词的来源及关系进行了探究,并在此基础上对Landscape Architecture的翻译提出了自己的见解,即在目前的情况下,应该继续采用“风景园林”的译法,避免在学术界内部及社会上造成不必要的纠纷与误解。With the different understanding of the word ＂landscape architecture＂, the arguments and debates have existed for a long period of time. By analyzing the main reasons, they are partly caused by scholars holding of different academic views and partly raised by people with lack of historic knowledge and resources within the development of the word ＂landscape architecture＂. In this paper, the author presents the evolution procedure through analyzing the history ol landscape architecture, specially focusing on the origin and relationship between Landscape Garden and Landscape Architecture. The author provides his own opinions on the translation of the word ＂landscape architecture＂, which should be consisted continuously by the academic circle to avoid unnecessary debates and confusions.
