摘  要:奥尼尔与曹禺剧作有许多相似之处。这不仅反映在主题、人物、技巧、文化内涵等显在表层上,也呈现在他们对生命、社会、人性深刻理解与把握的深层隐性形态上。这些表里因素的融合,铸就了两人既有独特民族文化背景,又有明显趋同性的悲剧观念。这在各自的代表作《榆树下的欲望》、《雷雨》中表现得较为典型。There are many similarities between O'neill's play and Caoyu's. This is not only reflected in such surface layer as subject, characters, techniques, and cultural connofion, but also is presented in the deep invisible morphology of their profound understanding and master of life, society and human nature. The fusion of these outside and inside factors shapes their tragedy idea that has their own unique national culture background as well as high convergence. This is showed typically in their respective representative works Desire Under the Elms and Thunderstorm.
