摘　　要：该文分析了西方幽默的特征功能及创设幽默的方法手段等,说明通过西方文学中幽默的赏析与翻译,可以培养学生的跨文化意识,帮助学生更好地掌握外语。同时培养学生欣赏并翻译西方文学中幽默的能力,以及在英语语言使用中创设幽默的能力,以求在中西方跨文化交流中更好地沟通与交流。This paper introduces and analyzes the feature, the social function of foreign humor, tries to talk about the ways of creating, appreciating and translating it. A better understanding and communication between Chinese and foreign cultures can be achieved through the appreciation of foreign humor. Students can improve their cross-cultural sense and their ability in appreciating and creating foreign humor if we show them the ways of humor in our teaching.
