从功能的角度论述新闻英语形式与内容的统一——对两篇新闻报道的对比分析

摘　　要：文章采用比较分析的方法,从字系、词汇和句法三个层面分析并比较两个新闻语篇。通过比较发现,两则新闻的字系、词汇、句法特征分别突出了其报道主题:第一篇突出美国人民和美国政府面对突如其来的“9.11”恐怖事件时的恐惧、紧张和慌乱;而第二篇报道则突出美国首次袭击阿富汗是经过精心策划后的有计划、有步骤的军事复仇行动。文章最后得出结论:新闻报道的语言形式是其报道主题内容的体现。With the attempt to unite the form and content of press English, this article analyzes and compares two reports from China Daily in terms of wordage, vocabulary and syntactic levels about the 9.11 event and the first air attack launched by Taliban on the U. S. A. The findings indicate that their features of wordage, vocabulary and syntax respectively embody their report themes. Consequently, the conclusion emerges that the form embodies the content in news report.
