摘　　要：语言是文化的载体,而习语又是语言的精华。英汉两种语言中都有大量的习语,文化背景不同,习语所传达的意义自然也会有区别。只有弄清楚英汉习语的文化异同点,才能做好英汉互译。文章就英汉习语进行对比,探究其内在原因。Culture always reflects on language, and idiom is the cream part of language. Both in English and Chinese, there are lots of idioms. Due to the cultural differences, the sense that English and Chinese idioms carry varies. Only by making clear of the similarities and differences between English idioms and Chinese idioms can excellent translation be possible. This paper first compares English idioms with Chinese idioms, then analyses the cultural reasons.
