摘　　要：名词化作为人类语言的一种共性现象早已引起不同语言学派学者的关注,并对此进行过系列研究。英语名词化现象的研究同样是语言学家关注的焦点之一,但对其“功过”论述不多。本文旨在比较系统的基础之上对英语名词化“功过”进行讨论,然后通过其在语篇运用中的量化考察,了解其运用的大致比例。Nominalization as one of the universal phenomena of human languages has attractea lingutsts wide attention from different schools and a series of research work has been conducted in this field, The study of nominalization in English is also one of the linguists＇ focuses, but comments on its merits and demerits are relatively sparse. This paper first carries a discussion in a much systematic manner, and then attempts to obtain a preliminary cognition of the rough proportion of such phenomena in texts via quantitative surveys.
