摘　　要：英语时态中过去时和现在时在运用中与其时态定义看似矛盾,然从隐喻认知角度分析,这是人们在空间域中形成的某些意象图示通过隐喻映射到时间域,再进一步映射到心理域的结果,这一过程正好反映了人们从已知到未知,从具体到抽象的认知规律。It seems that the concepts of past and present tenses in English contradict their practical usages. But from the standpoint of cognitive metaphor, it is the result of mapping of certain image schemas from space to time and further to mentality, and also reflects the basic human cognitive rule--from known to unknown and from concrete to abstract.
