摘　　要：汉语有重复,英语也有重复,但两者的修辞功能不一样。汉语多用重复,而英语多用替代和省略等方法来避免重复。本文分析造成这种差异的原因并归纳汉语重复的英译法。Repetition as a rhetorical device occurs both in Chinese and English, but the rhetorical functions are different in the two languages, and so is the frequency of their use. This paper analyses reasons for such differences and presents strategies for dealing with repetition in Chinese English translation.
