摘　　要：竺可桢是中国近代著名的大学校长,在主持浙江大学期间对大学教育的理念有着独到的见解和追求。他把优秀的专家学者、丰富的图书仪器、以文理为基础的综合学科设置视为理想大学的构成要素;他将具有清醒而理智的头脑、不徇利害的气概、公忠报国的责任的全面发展人才视为大学培养的目标;他把改良社会、服务地方、弘扬道德、发展学术视为大学承担的使命;他确立以科学精神为内涵的“求是”二字为浙大的校训。他所形成的大学教育理念,使浙江大学从地方性大学崛起成为国内一流大学。他的大学理念,对于今天高等教育的建设也颇具启迪意义。Zhu Kezhen, a famous university president in contemporary China, had a speeific understanding of university ideas when he was in charge of Zhejiang University. He considered excellent experts and scholars, abundant books and facilities, and establishment of comprehensive discipline based on liberal arts and science subjects as elements of ideal university;he thought that a university＇s aim in training was to cultivate talented persons with clear and rational brains, with the spirit disregarding their own benefits, and with the responsibility to serve the country heart and soul;he looked on improving society, serving the local places, promoting ethics and developing academic knowledge as the mission of a university;he made ＂pursuing truth＂ with a scientific spirit connotation as Zhejiang University＇s motto. His university ideas made Zhejiang University grow from a local university into a first-ciass one in China. His university ideas are of great inspiration for todays construction of higher education.
