摘　　要：教育作为社会的一个子系统,对推动社会经济发展发挥着极其重要的作用。教育的经济功能主要表现在为经济发展提供高素质劳动力和促进科技再生产两大方面。在构建和谐江苏的社会进程中,江苏省的教育发展状况及其功能值得关注。江苏省应着重缩小区域教育发展的不均衡,以教育事业的充分发展来推动社会经济的和谐发展。As a branch of society, education plays an extremely important role in promoting the development of social economy. Its economic functions mainly lie in the following two aspects： providing high-quality work force for the economic development and promoting scientific and technological reproduction. In the process of constructing harmonious Jiangsu, the situation and functions of educational development should be paid close attention to. Jiangsu should emphatically reduce the unbalanced development of education in regions and give full play to education to push forward the harmonious development of social economy.
