伍尔夫“中和”观解析:理性与情感之间

摘　　要：人们通常把情感表现作为文学的主要特征,用于区别以理性为基本特征的科学研究,对于妇女写作的认识往往也是如此。然而,英国作家、评论家弗吉尼亚.伍尔夫对此有着独到的认识。她不仅辨析出妇女写作中存在着的情感问题,而且从不同角度凸现了理性的重要性。其中,“中和”观最为关键,基于对艺术真实的理解、对情感诉求的充分考虑,它所反映出的相对性、公正性、整体性是对理性的坚持,对情理关系的辩证思考。同时,“中和”观表现出伍尔夫作为一名艺术家对于艺术创作,尤其是妇女创作持有的深刻思索,它启发作家们理性地表现情感,在整体性的建构中寻求共生、交融与超越。The British writer and critic Virginia Woolf gives much contemplation on the treatment of reason while analyzing emotion revealed in women＇ s writing. She stresses reason from different perspectives, among which ＂intermediacy＂ is a most important concept： Based on a good sense of truth, ＂intermediacy＂ represents dialectic thinking about reason and emotion, and highlights the significance of reason in writing, especially women＇ s writing. It is a concept characterized by relativity, imparity, and wholeness. Woolf＇ s idea of ＂intermediacy＂ in writing embodies an artist＇ s particular rational thinking about artistic creation.
