摘　　要：文章借用雷蒙德.威廉斯的理论,以麦琪的两条情感线路——兄妹情和爱情为轴心,分析她的兄妹情、爱情及其两者的交错发展,揭示贯穿小说的服从、责任、义务、自我压抑的道德观念以及深层次的社会结构意识和情感结构。通过文本分析,管窥爱略特道德观与维多利亚时期的社会环境。This paper seeks to analyze Maggie＇s sentiments between her and her brother, and her love between the other two men, disclosing such morality as obedience, responsibility, and self-depressing, and the social ideology and the structures of sentiments in the light of Raymond Williams＇ theory, thus looking into George Eliot＇ s own morality and the social reality in Victorian Period.
