摘　　要：高中和大学阶段的各英语大纲皆没有把英语语文的教育功能作为一个明确的概念提出,由此在教学性质和目标的导向上,容易产生政策性的语义歧义。同时,由于英语在大学里还不是一门独立的学科,因此也无法规范并扩大语文的教育辖域。本文以此为切入点,探讨建设大学英语语文学科的必要性。The educational function of the English language and philology has not been stated definitely in the English curriculum standards and requirements of senior middle schools and colleges in China, thus it easily leads to some semantic ambiguity on the policy in the guidance of teaching property and aims. As English is not an independent discipline in colleges, its linguistic or philological scope in education can not be regulated and enlarged. The paper discusses the necessity to build the discipline of English language and philology according to the two reasons above.
