摘  要:英国开放大学是享誉世界的远程开放大学,其先进的理念和成功的实践经验为全球远程教育的发展提供了弥足珍贵的借鉴。其2005/2006年度报告,从一贯遵循的对理念开放、对公众开放、对方法开放和对地域开放(下文简称"四个开放")的角度,阐述了该校最新的科研成果和实践进展。本文拟对报告进行解读,探析其"四个开放"理念指导下的最新成就的成因,探讨其对中国远程教育发展的启示。Open University of United Kingdom is an open and distance education university with high reputation around the world. The advanced idea and successful practice experience of OU provide rare treasures for the development of cosmopolitan distance education. In the 2005/2006 annual reports of OU,in the light of the persistent idea of open to people,places,methods and ideas,OU expatiates on its new scientific research fruits and practice evolvements in the last year with full and accurate data and facts. Based on the annual reports,this paper probes into the new fruits that OU achieved under the direction of the idea of four-opens,and analyses why OU have made these achievements. It is also hoped that the experience and achievements of OU could make some suggestions in developing distance education in China. These include insisting the nuclear idea and taking it as the direction,paying more attention to research work,improving service level that depends on pedagogies,enhancing openness of the learning resource and learning utility,and,at last,making distance education internationalization.
