眼动对中文阅读速度的影响研究

摘  要:通过对19名志愿者应用RSVP阅读程序试验,比较了RSVP(快速系列视觉呈现方式)下临界呈现单元和视觉广度探讨眼动对中文阅读速度的影响。结果表明:呈现单元差异显著(P=0.000);字体大小无显著差异(P=0.997),两者无交互作用(P=1.000);各呈现单元阅读速度比较,1字/单元<PAGE<2,3,4,6,8,10,12字/单元<词切;应用最小二乘曲线拟合法得字体大小为16pt、32pt、48pt时,临界呈现单元分别为2.4字、2.4字和2.5字,接近中文视觉广度。因而得出结论:中文文字特点和"预视效应"及脑内信息加工特点,使得眼动不成为限制阅读速度的关键因素。This paper studies the effect of eye movement unit and the visual span. 19 volunteers were enrolled in on the speed of reading Chinese text by comparing the critical presenting this study with best corrected VA better than 1.0. We use the Rapid Serial Visual Presentation (RSVP) to present text sequentially, one or several characters at a time at the same location in the visual field to measure the reading speed of the volunteers under 10 different presenting units and 3 different character sizes. The results show that the difference between reading speeds for different presenting units is significant (P=0.000), however, there is no significant difference for different character sizes (P=0.997), and no difference of the interaction between character size and presenting unit (P=1.000). Reading speeds under different presenting units take the following sequence: that of 1 character per unit〈that of PAGE〈that of 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 characters per unit〈that of word splitting. The critical presenting unit is 2.4 characters when the character size is 16 point or 32 point, and is 2.5 characters when the chatacter size is 48 point. It is concluded that the eye movement does not have a bottle-neck effect on the speed of reading Chinese text when the size is above the crucial level. This effect is supposed to be related to the unique structure of Chinese characters which offers the "pre-view effect" in the reading processing.
