摘　　要：英语是一种带有性别歧视的语言,一些词及其用法具有明显的性别歧视特征。具体表现在一些表示职业或工作的传统词语以"-man"作其后缀;同一个词指男性或女性其内涵有褒贬的差异;以"man"泛指包括男女两性的"人"或"全人类";在名词的形式上,阳性词常常是阴性词构成的基础等方面。English is a language of apparent sexism. Some words and expressions in English have apparent characteristics of sexism. And sexism in English can be shown in the following aspects： some traditional words expressing the meaning of work take ＂ - man＂ as suffix; the same word may have commendatory meaning when used to stand for the male and pejorative meaning when used to signify the female; ＂man＂ is used to stand for both the male and the female; male word is often the foundation of female word in word formation.
