摘　　要：《表姐妹》是美国著名女作家欧茨近年来发表的又一心理现实主义力作。该短篇小说通过书信形式真实地反映出犹太大屠杀对两个人乃至两个家庭造成的深刻影响,以及创伤经历在犹太个体和群体的心理上投下的挥之不去的阴影。大屠杀"后叙事"文本中嵌套的大屠杀叙事"潜文本"及其解读为作品开辟了互动的多重叙事空间,使作品获得了一种"元文本"的深度。本文拟通过对《表姐妹》的犹太寻根主题及其叙事策略分析,尝试在后现代语境中对大屠杀叙事的纪实与虚构特征、大屠杀"后记忆"在美国犹太身份认同中的作用等相关问题进行探讨。Joyce Carol Oates's recently published epistolary short story of psychological realism, 'The Cousins', reflects how traumatic memories of the Holocaust have exerted a profound influence on the Jewish communities and individuals in their post-Holocaust construction of identity. The subtext of the Holocaust narrative and its critical reading as embedded in the post-Holocaust narrative texture create multiple interactive narrative dimensions. Through an analysis of Oates's narrative strategies, this paper aims to explore such relevant issues as fictionality of the Holocaust narrative in postmodernist context, and the role of Holocaust post-memories in Jewish American identity politics.
