摘　　要：本文拟根据斯坦纳提出的"理解即翻译"的论断,具体分析了翻译过程及译者在翻译过程中所扮演的双重角色——读者和作者(或再作者)及其二者相统一的翻译之结果。作为读者,译者应该理解和阐释原文;作为再作者,译者应该给读者相应的解读和阐释空间。According to Steiner＇s statement that ＂To understand is to decipher. To hear significance is to translate＂, this paper analyzes the translation process and the roles of the translator. It points out that the translator plays the dual roles in the translation cycle. As the reader, the translator should understand and interpret the original text; as the re- writer, the translator should give the reader corresponding interpretive space.
