摘 要:异质文化隐喻,特别是"唯文化隐喻",即根植于某个文化群体,与该文化群体的生存经验、信仰和价值观念紧密联系的隐喻,对译文读者在辨认和理解上构成较大难度。对北京一所重点大学大一学生有关《圣经.雅歌》1、2章里的隐喻进行的辨认和理解测试,证明了这个假设。通过对《圣经》六个译本中这两章隐喻译文的分析,描写译者在翻译"唯文化隐喻"时通常采取的五个策略。Metaphors of other cultures, esp. metaphors that have to do with the national experiences, customs, and beliefs of a people, cause trouble to the target reader's recognition and understanding of them. Our investigation of the performance of 54 first - year college students of a key Chinese university to recognize and understand the metaphors in the first two chapters of the Song of Songs illustrates that target culture readers do have difficulty in these areas. Comparing 6 translations of the two chapters, the paper also shows the five strategies usually employed to make metaphors easier for the target culture reader.
