摘　　要：本文以亨利·詹姆斯国际主题小说——《美国人》和《欧洲人》为研究对象，旨在探索这两部作品的创作模式，并从形式主义的角度来分析该模式在这两部小说中所达到的文学效果和审美效果。研究发现，这两部小说中蕴含着一种有机模式——环境·人物·命运，这一模式和小说的内容紧密结合，使小说产生了陌生化效果，有效地突出了作者所要阐释的主题思想。This paper aims at exploring the creating models of the two novels of international themes by Henry James. It is found that in the two novels there is an underlying integrated pattern--environment,character and fate,which works closely with the content and succeeds in highlighting and foregrounding the author＇s designed purpose and international theme of the novels. The paper will illustrate how this pattern works and what effect of defamiliarization it produces and point out the significance of the discovery of this pattern.
