摘　　要：《喧哗与骚动》不但外部结构是复调的,而且内在情感也是复调的。福克纳体验到人生的苦难,又充分认识到人的忍受能力,他深切地感到生活的空虚、无聊,又相信人类会创造美好的未来,他是绝望的,同时又主张反抗绝望,反抗那沉重的命运。《喧哗与骚动》既是地方的,又是世界的,既是传统的,又是现代的,它是全面的、彻底的复调。The exterior framework of The Sound and the Fury is polyphonic, so is the internal sensibility of it. Considering the aspect of the latter, William Faulkner not only experienced the tribulation of the living, but also understood how much one could bear; he tasted the inanity and fastidium of the life deeply, but believed that the human being would create a fine future ; he was despairing, but claimed to resist the despair and the oppressive fate. So The Sound and the Fury is not only regional, but international ; it is not only traditional, but modernistic. So we can say that it＇s comprehensively and thoroughly polyphonic.
