摘　　要：本文拟从美感磨蚀、赘述、中式英语等层面列举并分析中国大学校训英译中出现的问题,并针对这些问题提出一些初步的解决办法。School motto is the tenet of a university, which best reflects its education tradition and feature. Whereas there exist much differences between Chinese and foreign university mottos as far as the education ideal, language structure, aesthetic effect and stylistic feature are concerned, which pose great difficulties to university motto translation. Based on the analysis of the errors and regrets existing in aesthetic ablation, redundant narration and Chinglish of university motto translation, this paper put forward some tentative solutions.
