企业家人口背景特征与多元化战略选择——基于中国上市公司面板数据的实证研究

摘　　要：国内关于多元化战略的研究主要集中于多元化战略与企业绩效的关系,有关管理者等多元化动机的研究十分缺乏。基于中国特殊的制度背景,本文综合高阶理论和资源基础理论,验证了有关企业家人口背景特征与多元化战略关系的研究结论。基于中国上市公司面板数据的实证研究发现,企业家的学历与多元化程度正相关,拥有技术类专业背景的企业家的企业多元化程度更高,拥有财务背景的企业家的企业多元化程度不是更高而是更低。通过综合两种看似矛盾的研究发现,本文提出并检验了企业家年龄和多元化战略间"∩"形关系模型。本研究对现有研究作了有益的补充,发现企业家曾任职的企业数与多元化程度正相关,男性企业家经营的企业多元化程度更高。从社会资本角度研究企业家与多元化战略具有较高的理论价值和实践意义。The domestic researches on the strategy of diversification are focused on the relationship between the strategy of diversification and firms' performance, but the study on managers' motives for diversification is scarce. Based on the special institutional background in China, and by the combination of the upper echelon perspective and the resource-based view, we have examined the conclusions made by the study on the relationship between the characteristics of entrepreneurs' background and the strategy of diversification. Founded on the case study on the panel data of China's listed companies, we have discovered that the correlation between enterprisers' educational background and the degree of diversification is positive, that high is the degree of enterprises' diversification when enterprisers have educational background in technology, and that low is, however the degree of enterprises' diversification when enterprisers have educational background in finance. Combining two types of research findings that seem contradictory to each other, we have built and tested an inverse U-shaped model for the relationship between the age of enterprisers and the strategy of diversification. Our findings have added to the results of available researches, because we have found that positive is the correlation between the number of enterprises in which an enterpriser has held the office and the degree of diversification, and that high is the degree of diversification of an enterprise when the enterpriser is a male. Exploring the relationship between entrepreneurs and the strategy of diversification from the perspective of social capital is of great significance in both theory and practice.
