摘　　要：翻译不仅仅是一种语言转换,还是一种发生在一定社会、历史条件下的文化交流。文本之外的种种因素都对翻译有影响,其中意识形态作为社会文化的一个重要方面,直接或间接地操纵着翻译。通过对林纾翻译《黑奴吁天录》的动机以及在翻译过程中对策略的选择进行分析,可以发现意识形态对翻译的操纵是不可忽视的事实。More than transformation between languages, translation is also cultural communication under certain social and historical background. Thus, various elements beyond languages can exert influences upon translation. As a major aspect of social culture, ideology directly or indirectly manipulates translators and translation. This paper analyzes Lin Shu＇s motivation and choices of translation strategies in the process of translating Uncle Tom＇s Cabin and finds that ideological manipulation in translation process should not be ignored.
