英汉明喻喻体的文化差异

摘　　要：明喻是英汉两种语言中常见的修辞手法,但喻体的运用却有很大差异。文章从文化角度,通过分析地域环境、文化传统、风俗习惯、宗教信仰及文学作品等五个方面来探讨两种语言中明喻喻体的不同及其体现的文化差异,从而克服跨文化交际中的一些障碍。Simile, as a kind of figurative speech, is often used in Chinese and English, but the applications of vehicles in the similes are quite different. From the angle of culture, this paper has analyzed the difference of vehicles in the similes of these two languages and their background information from five aspects, the geographical environment, historical tradition, customs, religious belief and literature, so as to overcome the barrier in the intercultural communication.
