Both Emily Dickinson and George Byron hold that God is cruel in heart, imperious in management, unfair in treating his followers and absurd in everything. They also hold that He is omnipresent but inaccessible. The similarities of their views about God result from their common environment and similar religious experience. However, different from Byron's absolute denial and criticism, Dickinson occasionally describes God as a perfect figure in her poems. The author of the paper concludes that the difference comes from their difference in sex, identity, family background and personal experience.
