从《喜福会》看中美文化的冲突

摘　　要：《喜福会》是美国著名的华裔女作家谭恩美的第一部长篇小说,它展现了在中国长大的四位母亲和在美国长大的女儿们间的感情冲突和恩恩怨怨。由于中美在思维方式、价值观等方面存在差异,生活在这两种文化背景下的人在交流时难免会产生矛盾和冲突。对小说中所体现的中美文化冲突进行了分析,最后提出要尽量增进彼此间的了解,尊重彼此的传统和文化,使彼此间的交往更加融洽,最大限度地避免冲突。The Joy Luck Club is a long novel written by Chinese American woman writer Amy Tan. It describes the conflicts between four mothers who grow up in China and their daughters who grow up in America. As there are differences between English and Chinese thought patterns and values, people who live under these two cultures will inevitably have contradiction and conflicts. This paper analyzes the conflicts between English and Chinese cultures represented in this novel and propose that peopleshould try their best to know and respect each others＇ cultures to avoid the emergence of conflict.
