论赞助人对西南联大文学翻译活动的操控

摘　　要：西南联大文学翻译活动始终处在赞助人体系的操控之下。间接赞助人在相互斗争中达成妥协,为西南联大文学翻译活动创造了相对独立、宽松和自由的社会文化氛围,从而使文学翻译独立于主流战争文学之外,实现了翻译作品多样化与纯文学化。直接赞助人白英对翻译活动的影响更为具体。白英的个人喜好决定了翻译文集的选材,白英个人的翻译思想被译者们奉为翻译圭臬,在翻译文集中处处得以体现。Literary Translation in Southwest Associated University （SAU） was manipulated by indirect and direct patrons. Indirect patrons, after a series of fighting, were able to achieve certain balance, and as a result free atmosphere was created, which made it possible for literary translation in SAU to break through the constraints of wartime literature to cover a wide variety of themes and genres. The direct patron, Payne, played a decisive role in the making of translation anthologies： his personal preference determined the choice of source texts and his thoughts on translation were taken as the criterion translators were supposed to observe.
