摘　　要：文章从关联理论角度对英汉会话中的话轮沉默进行分析,探讨话轮沉默的信息意图、交际意图、语境效果以及理解话轮沉默的努力,说明关联理论对话轮沉默具有较强的解释力。但不可否认理解沉默还需要考虑文化、思维差异等相关因素。In the light of relevance theory, this paper studies the phenomenon of turn silence in English and Chinese discourse, including its informative and communicative intentions, relevance and contextual effect of turn silence, and the efforts for interpreting turn silence under the overall guidance of the relevance theory, Meanwhile, the difference of culture and thinking should be considered in the course.
