摘 要:电影字幕翻译是一个新兴的翻译领域。文章介绍了字幕翻译的定义、特点、功能及其约表性,并以影片《集结号》的英文字幕翻译为例进行探讨。通过影片具体字幕翻译实例分析,作者认为要准确还原影视对白或独白原意,译者进行字幕翻译时不仅要考虑到语言转换问题,还要考虑到影视字幕翻译自身的特点及东西方语言文化差异所遗成的各种因素的制约。字幕翻译和文学翻译一样包括语言和文化两个层次,但前者还受到空间和时间的限制,这就给译者提出了更大的挑战。作为文化交流的中介,电影字幕的翻译应以观众为中心,侧重观众效应,在充分考虑观众的期待视野、审美情趣和接受能力的基础上,根据实际情况采用不同翻译策略对影片中的文化信息做出灵活处理,使字幕翻译真正发挥文化传播的中介作用。Film subtitling translation is a new field of translation. The article analyzes the definitions, feature, functions and its constraints. According to the subtitling translation examples, of the movie ASSEMBLY , the author thinks that in order to reproduce the original meaning of the dialogue or monologue of the film, the translator should take language transformation, the features of subtitling and all constraine caused by differences between Chinese eculture and Western culture into consideration. Subtitling, as well as literature translation, has two levels which are language level and cultural level. However the former one has space and time limitations. Thus the translator has to face more difficult challenge. Subtitling translation, as the medium of cultural exchange,should take the audience into full consideration and focus on audience's horizon, reception and acceptance. For the sake of medium effect, translator has to deal with the cultural information in the subtitling translation flexibly and accordingly.
