意象之辨:从imagism说起  

On "Image" and "Yi Xiang":from a Cross-cultural Perspective

摘　　要：英文“imagism”常被汉译为意象派或意象主义，由此，“image”就自然而然被视为“意象”。文章通过考察西方诗学和中国文论传统，提出“image”与“意象”渊干两种不同的文化和文学评论系统，彼此存在很大的差异。注意这种差异，有助干不同文化的互证、互识、互补，有助于在交流和借鉴过程中避免误读和误解，真正实现异质文化的沟通。The English term ＂image＂ has long been translated into and thus widely accepted as the equivalent word of the Chinese term ＂Yi Xiang＂. Through a careful exploration into Western and Chinese literary criticism,this paper reveals the fundamental difference between the two terms due to their respective cultural and literary tradition. Awareness of this difference can help avoid misinterpreting and misunderstanding in the cultural dialogue between China and English-speaking countries.
