从培养语言能力到提高交际能力——中国高校公共英语教学目标的重大调整

摘　　要：中国高校的公共英语教学经过改革开放近30年的探索,终于走上一条健康发展的道路,从教育主管部门到专家学者都认识到我国英语教学的目标应该做重大调整,必须从原来重在培养学生的语言能力转变为全面提高学生的交际素质。为此,高校和英语教学工作者需要在教学理念创新、教学环境营造、教学模式和考试模式改革、教材建设、实验基地建设诸方面为上述教学目标的实现创造条件。College English education in China may finally embark on a path of healthy development after nearly 30 years of exploring through reform and opening policy, that is, the majority of the people, from the departments in charge of education to the experts and scholars, realize that the goal of China＇s college English teaching and learning should make significant adjustments from originally enphasizing students＇language skills into improving the students＇quality of communication comprehensively. Therefore, the institutions and higher learning and teaching of English teachers need to create conditions for achieving the objective in such aspects of teaching as innovation of teaching ideas, creation of leaching environment, reforming of teaching mode and test mode and construction of teaching materials and experimental bases.
