摘　　要：培养学生外语自主学习能力是现代教育的目标之一,而在翻译教学中引入自主学习概念是对外语教学的一种新的尝试,它将有助于提高学生的文化素养,增强学生的实际翻译能力以及信息交流能力。Introduction of the idea of learning autonomy to translation class is a kind of attempt to improve students＇ cultural knowledge, strengthen their abilities to translate and communicate as well. This paper elaborated ways to develop English majors＇ learning autonomy in translation class as well as problems. It also points out that more efforts are needed in developing students＇ proaetive autonomy. The paper highlights the teacher＇s role in the process of cultivation.
