摘　　要：通过对来自成都、天津和沈阳三个地区的省重点中学、城市一般中学和普通农村中学（共18所）的1153名1—3年级的高中生进行的“高中生自主性英语学习能力”的调查发现，学生的自主学习能力普遍偏低，农村中学和城市普通中学学生的自主能力比省重点中学学生的自主能力要低，男生比女生的自主能力低。可见，在实施新课标，进行新课改的过程中，教师要下大力气培养学生的自主能力，以切实提高学生的学习效率和综合语言运用能力。The investigation of ＂Senior High School Students＇ Autonomy in English Learning＂ among 1153 students ranged from grade one to three from key senior high schools, ordinary senior urban high schools and ordinary senior suburban high schools located in Chengdu, Tianjin and Shenyang indicates that the students＇ autonomy in English learning is weak in general, the autonomy of students from key senior high schools are stronger than that of those from the other two types of schools, and female students＇ autonomy in English learning are stronger than that of males. Following the reflections of the investigation, it is proposed that teachers should make full efforts to cultivate students＇ autonomy in their English learning in order to improve students＇ learning efficiency and comprehensive competence of language usage.
