摘  要:培养和发展学生的认知能力和思维能力,提升他们的创新能力和分析问题、独立提出见解的能力是外语专业教学的主要目标。外语教育在注重培养学生语言能力的同时,还应致力于提高学生的修辞能力。本文首先探讨外语专业的内涵,然后提出一种培养外语专业内涵和创新型外语人才的途径,即在外语专业教学体系中融入培养学生修辞能力的教学理念。培养学生的修辞能力可为创新能力与素质的培养提供一种可能性,也为实际教学提供了可操作的平台。本文认为,我们的外语教学要取得突破必须致力于提高学生的修辞能力。而不是单纯注重培养所谓的语言能力,从而实现“从语言到话语,表达到应对,交流到说服,解释到论辩”的跨越。One of the major goals of foreign language teaching is to develop students' cognitive and thinking abilities. The purpose of foreign language teaching is not only to develop students' linguistic competence but also to develop their rhetoric competence. This paper first discusses the nature of foreign language teaching, and then proposes a way to produce new and creative talents. The cultivation of students' rhetoric competence might provide a possibility for the development of creative thinking patterns and an orientation for everyday classroom teaching as well. The paper argues that it is crucial for foreign language teaching to include the cultivation of students' rhetoric competence into its teaching system, thus making the leap from language to discourse, from expression to interaction, from communication to persuasion, and from explanation to argumentation.
