摘  要:如何激发研究生的批判性思维和创新能力?这是目前中国外语类硕士研究生教育中普遍面临的严峻问题。这里报道的有关尝试,对象是英语语言学方向的硕士研究生,具体涉及学位基础课“系统功能语法”。尝试者采用美国高等教育中通行的“大运动量”式的训练模式,将这一基本原则贯穿于整个教学过程中,包括授课、小组讨论、课后作业、期末测试和课程论文,目的是培养学生的批判创新能力,历时2005—2007两个学年度两届学生。本报告涉及本课程作为该校研究生精品课建设的具体操作过程以及学生的反馈意见。这里的尝试对中国高等教育中其他学科的学位课建设及有关教学亦具有启示作用。Recently,voices have pervasively arisen for solving this severe problem of creativity and finding a way out;the present report is one d these. It is concerned with an attempt to fill this gap by adopting the ' severe' and ' harsh' (from a Chinese perspective) education model,which is,howev- er,very much popular in the American higher education. The practical course of our experiment is Systemic Functional Grammar (SFG) for those graduates enrolled in the Overseas Linguistics and Applied Linguistics Program at Beijing Normal University. The principle adopted is meant to be embodied in the whole teaching process of this course,inchding lecturing,group discussion,bi-weeldy assignments, final test,and course paper writing. After two years' consciously goal-oriented endeavors,the research group has obtained some satisfactory achievements,which are clearly suggested in the feedbacks from the relevant students surveyed. The paper also lays out improvement room for further efforts for the teachers. The principle and methodologies adopted here are thought to be helpful for other graduate programs in China as well.
