摘　　要：本文从新的视角对目前我国高等学校类型定位问题进行了探讨。认为应用型本科院校和技术本科概念的提出，是对学术型大学类型定位的反思。应用型本科院校是当前较多的本科院校的自我定位选择，表明大批本科院校的办学与社会经济发展的结合更加紧密，也反映了高校办学理念更加务实，人才的培养也更加务实。但是，需要指出的是，在肯定应用型本科院校类型定位具有思想解放进步意义的同时，也要防止过分强调应用的功利思想冲淡了大学教育中最重要的人文精神。In this paper, discussion on orientation choices for higher education institutions of China is made from a new angel of view. The author holds that the birth of the definition of applied undergraduate college and that of polytechnic undergraduate education is a kind of reconsideration of academy-oriented higher education mode. The orientation of applied undergraduate college is the choice of many newly-emerged undergraduate colleges, which is a reflection of the developing combination of the education practice of higher education institutions and the social and economic development, the more realistic education concepts, and the practical modes of talents education. Whereas, the author also points out that the most important part of higher education, humanistic education, should not be counteracted by the over-emphasis on pursuit of short-term aim and effect of applied higher education.
